Draken Harald Harfagre

This is a reconstruction of a Viking ship. It sailed by wind power from Norway to Newfoundland much as they sailed 1000 years ago. It was impossible to get a decent photo of a wooden Viking ship moored between a tug boat and a yacht! But I learned some interesting history for my Viking DNA!

The voyage took 5 weeks with a crew of 35. There was another tent under the canopy where they slept and took shelter in nasty weather. Thirty-five people and no shower is my idea of hell!

Morning temperature: 68 degrees

Steps: 6213
