I couldn't get out to take any pretty snow pictures of the February 9 snowstorm since I was trapped in my cubicle from sunup past sundown. So here is a not so pretty picture but it's kind of interesting. This is considered a legal lot size. Who wants to buy it and build????

The snow kept coming all day but it wasn't setting any records. The GreenMarket was still active but not well attended...but then in January the choices are limited!

It was fun to see the famous plastic bag over the shoes for someone unprepared for snow.

Curb Cuts

This is the curb cut at the end of the street of my apartment building. When I saw this while starting out on errands I had no idea that this would be the best and biggest curb cut I would see for the next 3 1/2 miles

The other direction was not quite as nice but not nearly as bad as what I would see later.

During a blizzard there are still things you have to do

You still have to walk the dog (or clean up the mess!)

You still have to walk your baby down the middle of a snow covered street (or not)

And you have to order food to be delivered by some poor guy on a bike.

8 am and a Little Snow

This is a shot from Tuesday morning when I expected to see waist deep snow. As you can see there wasn't much snow in the neighborhood and some plowing had been done...but the traffic ban was still working to keep the streets clear.

A little snow fell overnight but it was already melting in the rain by the time we went on our compost run. 

 

PS: They weren't collecting compost today! Yikes!

Snowy Friday

Today's story is snow! When I left home there were 3 snowflakes falling. By the time I got to work it looked like this. Unfortunately I didn't have any nice scenic places conveniently located for picturesque snow photos. It's only supposed to snow during the morning so hopefully I won't have much snow for the commute home.

A Snowflake's Chance in Hell...

The scene: It's July...90 degrees...the heat index is 105...the humidity is choking me and the sun is scorching me on the city streets. I look down next to a tree and see a snowflake! Just for a second an image of a snowy street pops in my head...but it doesn't quite last long enough to lower my body temperature!

Snowy Tuesday

The corner diner looks warm and cheery in the snow

A little more snow was falling on the day after Presidents Day. I saw a guy riding a bike. It always amazes me that some people ride in all weather. I worry about staying upright on my two feet and these guys are balancing on two narrow tires! He pulled over before I got my camera ready to take a shot...and that's when I saw that there was no seat on the bike. One icy bump and he could have sustained some nasty damage!

The Olympics are still not over! What???
