Mail Chute

This is one of the US Postal Service mail chutes in an older building. You drop your mail in the chute and it magically gets where it's going. Some of the older buildings used to be connected to post offices. The pneumatic tubes would blow the mail all the way to the  post office through a system of tubes in the more populated areas.

I suspect the mail in this building ends up in a big container in the basement and is picked up from there.

Morning temperature: 27 degrees with snow flurries

Steps: 9342
