Never Forget

It's not unusual to see fire trucks on the streets of NYC. Sometimes they are rushing off with lights flashing and sirens blasting. Sometimes the truck is pulled up to a grocery store while fire fighters in full uniform shop for food. Luckily I rarely see a fire involved. Today this truck was just returning from a call.

Firefighters are very loyal to their deceased colleagues. From plaques and photos posted at the firehouse to names engraved on their trucks. It's a good reminder to all of us of the possible danger around the corner and the souls that are always with us.
