A Breath of Spring

I saw this window for the first time last night. It was a welcome relief from red. The red of Christmas has morphed into the red of Valentine's Day so a little orange is not a bad thing!

Foil Lady

This is the Foil Lady. She doesn't really have a head...just a wadded up ball of more foil. In this picture the foil dress looks like a big messy but in person it looked like a nice dress.

Mr. Snowfriends

So these snowpeople hidden behind the reflections in the window apparently are male snowpeople. You can tell by the mustaches. On the other hand, those mustaches look fake...maybe they are female snowpeople in disguise.

They, perhaps, shouldn't stand so close to the radiator in the foreground of the photo!

Unfortunately the reflections on the window are ruining the shot but this was a window display after my own heart...except maybe for the gold dress! I'll take the birch trees and polar bears any day!

Happy Halloween!

These guys are in the window of a store that sells party paper products. Most of the time they specialize in wedding and shower supplies and the window is full of appropriate pastel displays.

On my walk home last night I passed Abracadabra, a year round store that is everything Halloween. There was a line half a block long to get in. Halloween gets bigger every year!

Floating Orbs

What a morning! Rain, a train with a braking problem, then no trains due to a switch problem at a major terminal, waiting for a train that won't come with people packed wall to wall, a mile long walk looking for a bus (since everyone else was doing the same), resting at a bus stop while 3 buses passed on by without stopping, finally a bus for the last 40 blocks. Discovering that riding the bus is excruciating! Stop and start. Stop and start. But I made it!

Emoticons in the Window

I am not a particular fan of emoticons. They seem like too much trouble to use in emails and texts so I skip them.

And then even with all the reflections in the window I can see all these emoticons staring at me.

Bride on the Side

The photo looks a bit like an optical illusion. We are seeing the bride sideways walking on what should be the wall. An interesting viewpoint.

The last day of February is a cold one! It felt like an awfully snow filled month. Apparently the 29 inches of snow we received in NYC in February is 4 inches more than we usually receive all winter.
